Editor/contributor Paul McComas is or has been the instructor of the sixteen other contributors to this anthology, fourteen of whom first studied with him in the Minicourse Program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.  (The other two first studied with him at Lawrence University’s Bjorklunden summer seminar program in Door County, Wisconsin.)  All are also present or past students in his privately-run Advanced Fiction Writing workshop.

As of mid-October 2007, Further Persons Imperfect was, according to Amazon.com, its 15th-best-selling current anthology title! And on October 20th, Further Persons Imperfect received an Honorable Mention in national competition at the 2007 DIY Book Festival in Los Angeles!.
